Pwlan Network Design And Dissemination Of Model Calibration

PWLAN (Public Wireless Local Area Network) can be used in hotspots, within a company and incity seamless mobile coverage, supporting wireless wideband access with mobile or half-mobile terminals in certain areas. Kunshan Telecom provides PWLAN service to its senior subscribers for mobile data service, as a supplemental method, with its complete PHS network.First, this thesis briefly introduces the topology and protocol reference model of PWLAN, as well as the function and structure of media access control layer and physical layer.Secondly and mainly, it discuss the PWLAN RF propagation model correction. Modeling the radio channels is a difficult task in mobile communications designing. Normally the statistics theories and the measurement in field for communication system on special frequencies are employed to solve this problem. In order to properly deploy the PWLAN, we have to correct the PWLAN RF propagation model. On the basis of CW test results and data map under KUNSHAN typical RF environments, we got the corrected propagation equations. They did great to the PWLAN deployment and optimization. Then it gives the detailed PWLAN RF plan of Utstarcom. On the basis of it, this thesis discusses in detail the practical problems in arrangeing the AP (Access Point) of the selected 105 hotspots and ACs.Then, aftrer the analyse of the PWLAN service solutions of the network services providors, the design scheme of the first phase project of Kunshan PWLAN is proposed according to the general scheme of KUNSHAN Telecom PWLAN. The number of AP and the detailed arrangement of AP, Ethernet Switcher, and AC (Access Controller) in each hotspot are given. And the functions of transparent bridge, network address conversion equipment, and network management equipment are demonstrated. Currently the first phase project of Kunshan PWLAN has been completed and is already in operation properly.
