Design And Implementation Of Built-in Access Control Module In Switch

In recent years,with the rapid development of WLAN technology,as well as the continuously improvement of WLAN network integration in individual,campus,and enterprise,the centralized WLAN management framework which combines AP and AC has gradually become the main wireless network deployment mode.However,large scale wireless networks are typically used as an overlay on the wired network topology,this situation makes the need to manage and maintain two logical networks and lead to different features and services,BYOD generalization will exacerbate it,Therefore,the market demand for converged wired and wireless networks,as well as centralized management of these two network environment has become more necessary,as the two types of core equipment in their own network,the integration between the AC and the Switch will be an inevitable trend.For this situation,we study how the AC can be built into the switch system in a more flexible way.First,learn the switch and a wireless controller structure,characteristics,and the similarities and differences in their own network.Borrowing a relatively common integration solution of AC board card currently,let AC be integrated in switch as a driver module to operate with the software and hardware.analyze the market requirement,especially the demand of enterprise about the switch which integrated AC,correspond the demand and data analysis with variety of modeling methods in function and performance.Then,combining software and hardware architectural features of H3C network equipment,and the support by BCM forwarding chip,design and implement an Access Controller module which can be integrated in different switch driver platforms,so that the switch can centralized AP management functions,along with the exchange capacity of wired and wireless data.Finally,did the unit testing and integration testing of main features and performance specifications in wireless control module,the standardized tests based on functional and performance specifications of H3C AC show that the design of the built-in AC module,well inline with the market demand for the integration of wired and wireless network.AC as the form of software module to achieve the integration with switch on both software and hardware,not only makes the switch along with with a switching capacity of wired and wireless data networks while reducing complexity,simplifying network management and maintenance,and improved wireless bandwidth across the network expand the scale deployment of wireless networks,with more portability and compatibility.With the technical research of integration between AC and switch deeply,int the future,the switch integrated AC functions will be the core equipment in the integrated network.
