In the domain of multimedia instruction, scanning coding parameter stream is needed in some researching fields. With the development of information technology, more and more interfaces have been developed, of which the high-speed serial bus-IEEE 1394-perhaps will be the first choice for people engaged in the field of image processing, data transmission for its high performance. IEEE 1394 has become the factual standard. So this project perfected and developed digital video (DV) and MPEG data stream reception and transmission, and using it in the multimedia instruction platform.Firstly, the related basic knowledge is studied thoroughly: the structure and feature of PCI, operation theory and data transmission process. The thesis also studies the related IEEE1394 protocol, analyzes the configuration of PCI, arbitration mechanism and data transmission, describes the protocol related PCI from the point of system structure.Secondly, the 1394 integrated control chip TSB43AB23 of TI is adopted to design the switch interface between data bus of PCI and 1394. The project realizes the video outputting and getting board based on the data bus of IEEE1394, transports video in high speed with the two kind of data bus, and construct the multimedia instruction system.Thirdly, 1394 equipment inn includes function driver, bus driver and port driver, of which bus driver and port driver are provided by Windows2000/XP; 1394 function driver abides by IEEE 1394a protocol. This thesis mainly designs and analyzes the currency driver which controlled by data asynchronous transmission or isochronous transmission.The research and practice of this thesis possesses certain practical significance and referential value in understanding IEEE1394 and developing the peripheral interface circuit.
