Seismic landslide is a very serious secondary earthquake disaster. Secondary disasters such as collapse, Landslide and debris flow always brings more damage than the earthquake.China is an earthquake-prone country and has complex geological structures. Especially in the mountains area of western China, seismic landslide often occurs,which endangers the safety of state property and people's lives. Research on landslide mechanism is deficient presently,and it is important to strengthen the research. In this paper, take the yangmaoping landslide in maoxian for example. By field measurement, investigation and boring, analyze the conditions of environment geology and slide characters; discuss the trigger mechanism of earthquake from the respect of pore-water pressure and earthquake forces. Mechanical parameters is determined by means of the shop experiment, back-calculation and situ testing. Stability and surplus sliding force is evaluated in different operating dutys. Stress and strain pattern is created by way of SIGMA/W,SLOPE/W,QUAKE/W module in Geo-Studio.The results of traditional methods and numerical method are compared.In this paper,the stability is discussed in different operating dutys of yangmaoping landslide from the respect of failure feature, computational stability and stress field. Landslide mechanism is interpreted and stability is evaluated, by which to design yangmaoping engineering.
