Mineral resources is an important material in national economic development and is an important guarantee for healthy development of society. In recent years, the management of mineral resources in general having been the world's attention, to improve the management and planning level, they are researching for exploring advanced planning mode for management,and the use of modern high-tech improve quality and efficiency of management and planning, with a view to strengthening their favorable position in international competition.China's Ministry of Land, also issued the first programmatic document of mineral resources planning-"National Mineral Resource Planning" in June 2001, then the first round of the national mineral resources planning work in the country in full swing, the implementation of this work management of our country's mining policy to the scientific, standardized, and information technology in a solid step forward, but there are still having some problems.View of this, relying on the second round of the National Mineral Resource Planning-Project City, ChiZhou Anhui Province, We research the foundation of information theory and research status of China's mineral resources in this paper in the first step, combined with the actual situation of mineral resources of information technology and application requirements for ChiZhou, according to the first round of national mineral resources planning problems in the work:data quality and the format is not standardized, low level of database development, database-based application needs to be improved and so on, in-depth analysis of database construction based on the theory, to determine the model-driven approach building a database, which is based on the construction of CASE database modeling program. The database design process of logic design and physical design integration, database schema changes to improve the drawbacks of inconvenience. Also, select extended relational database as the storage solution of mineral resources to achieve data integration, spatial data and attribute storage and management. Secondly, the database construction, combined with the specific circumstances of Chizhou on building a database of relevant standard was extended, and the overall database design, focusing on the Geodatabase model design methods and techniques, the use of model building to generate database schema directly process and precautions. Finally, the establishment of a unified format, data specification, easy to maintain and expand the ChiZhou post-data database of mineral resources, and gives the secondary development of database-based application examples.
