The Sequencing batch biofilm reactor(SBBR) is a new kind of Hybrid Biological Reactor combined with the activated sludge process and biofilm process.The startup process of training biofilm,optimization of the suspended carrier filling ratio,optimal operating conditions,characteristics of biofilm and dynamics model were researched for the monosodium glutamate wastewater treatment by using SBBR.Two kinds of suspended carriers with different materials and shapes were selected to the startup of training biofilm.The monosodium glutamate wastewater and the synthetic wastewater were used respectively.The carrier filling ratio is 40%.The maturation time of biofilm in the two factors were 40 days and 30 days respectively,with the mature biomass of 34mg/g and 80mg/g.And the thickness of biofilm in the two factors both were 0.5~1.Omm.In the two factors,the final removal rates of CODcr were 90% and 95% respectively,the removal rates of NH4+-N were 96%and 97% respectively,and the removal rates of TN were both more than 80%.The results of the test showed that when the aeration rate was 0.75m3/h,the average DO was 3mg/L,MLSS was 3500mg/L and the carrier filling ratio was 30%,the SBBR system had a good remocal effect.It determined the optimal operating conditions:water ertering time was 30 min, aerobic time was 7h,precipitation time was 1h and drainage time was 30 min.When HRT was 27h,and the concentration of water inflow was 1000-1200mg/L,the removal rate of CODcr,NH4+-N and TN were more than 90%,98% and 75%.The concentration of CODCr and NH4+-N in effluent measured up to the new discharge standard of pollutants for MSG industry,which was lower than 100mg/L and 30mg/L.The study of characteristics of biofilm showed that,with the growth of biofilm microorganisms,biomass in the fueface of carrers increased gradually.After observing under a microscope,types and quantity of microorganisms in biofilm were more than that in suspended activated sludge.There were protozoans mainly including Lionotus,Aspidisca, Vorticella,Epistylis,and metazoan including Nematodw,Rotifers and so on.They formed a stable ecological system and helped to improve the treatment effect and the stability of the systemThe experiment also combined with Monod equation with degradation law of organic compounds in the reactors to ascertain kinetic parameters,and deduced equations of substrate degradation and biofilm increase.
