Techno-economic Analysis Of Cellulosic Ethanol Fuel

Cellulosic ethanol fuel is significant to the development of new energy industrial, the commercial demonstration research is developing quickly in American and Europe countries, due to the related production costs are too high, cellulosic ethanol industry is unable to industrialized production, in order to promote its development, it is necessary to do techno-economic analysis of cellulosic ethanol fuel, under this background, this paper made a detailed analysis of the two big bottleneck problems that block cellulosic ethanol industry development.One problem is the raw material supply system of cellulosic ethanol, mainly including the selection of raw material, collection and storage. This paper studies the advantages and disadvantages of various raw materials, and with our crops straw as the research object, analysis the relationship of the straw collect radius, factory production scale, and the straw price. Then determined the appropriate materials collection radius and factory production scale. Appropriate materials collection radius is 40 km to 70 km, the corresponding material requirements scale for a plant is 1,000 t/d to 4,000 t/d. Another problem is the technology of cellulosic ethanol production, mainly including raw material pretreatment, hydrolysis and fermentation. This paper analysis the advantages, disadvantages, technology index, economy and applicability of various techniques based on technical and economic method, then summarized the present situation and the development trend of future technology.At the last part of this paper, the economy scale of cellulosic ethanol plant is determined using economic analysis method. By analysis the investment, production cost and profit, we know that achieving commercial production of cellulosic ethanol still have certain difficulty in the present technical conditions. In order to maintain the enterprise operation, state's tax removing and financial subsidies are necessary in short-term, raw material supply system's establishing and the cost of cellulose reducing can realize the price of cellulosic ethanol production in the long run.
