Flax is a natural cellulose fiber with excellent properties, which endow its products with good wearing characteristics and style. So it meets requirements of the markets and the customers in the global textile. But the property and spinning ability of flax and traditional linen spinning technology restrict the superior quality and diversification of linen products'developing.In order to improve the disadvantages of existing flax fiber degumming method and textile processing, the etherification modification degumming technology was studied in this thesis. Firstly, alkali pretreatment conditions before ether modification have been defined by experiment; Secondly, ether modification and its process were studied; then, in order to gain refined flax fiber with good spinnability, the process for the method of flax fiber alkali oxygen degumming has been optimized; lastly, according to the fiber sample structure and performance, the mechanism of flax fiber etherify modification has been investigated. The results in this paper can provide adequate quality materials for the development of high-grade products. The conclusions were drawn as follows:(1) Etherification modification of flax fiber needed alkali pretreatment, which could make the fibers fully infiltrated before etherification treatment, and removed part of the pectin and hemicelluloses so as to help the spread and adsorption of epoxy propane, which could speed up the reaction. Draw the conclusion that the best alkali pretreatment conditions were:NaOH concentration 6%, alkali pretreatment time 60 min.(2) The optimal process was obtained by orthogonal design on the basis of single factor experiments on enzymatic treatments, and the performance of the fiber thus obtained was tested and analyzed. We choose the best processing paraments:epoxy propane (g)/flax fiber (g) is 0.2, temperature is 65℃and reaction time is 90 min.(3) Combined with etherification modification mechanism, alkali oxygen scouring degumming treatment was carried out to the etherification modified fibers. The results show the spinning performance got better. And the properties of the modified fibers are as follows: linear density is 4.46dtex, breaking strength is 3.87cN/dtex and white degree is 59.6%. (4) The structure and properties of chemical degumming fiber, ether modified fiber and alkali oxygen scouring degumming fiber were analyzed through the infrared spectrum, X-ray diffraction, tensile test methods and etc. In addition, the oxygen scouring degumming mechanism of flax fiber were discussed...
