To meet the individuality and diversity of the market, to keep the product quality and safety, a process design system oriented to rapid product configuration based on PDM is put forward.Firstly, by investigating the state-of-the-art of the enterprise, taken the product family of the tank container as the object of study, the overall demand of the welding CAPP system oriented to the product configuration are analyzed and proposed. Moreover, systematically designs of the system, including modules of the function and E-R design of database are given. Then, in order to improve the flexibility of the system, a mixed welding process design method is proposed. In detail functional design, the process configuration design based on case and the parametric process design based on rules are synthesized. In order to avoid the subjective and uncertainty in the process of evaluation, to improve the efficiency and flexibility of the entire system, a welding method optimized allocation model based on fuzzy decision algorithm is put forward to overcome the difficulties of selection of welding method within the welding process design,. Finally, the welding CAPP system prototype oriented to the product configuration is developed.The welding CAPP system oriented to the product configuration greatly improved the process design efficiency and efficiently and solved the problems of Mass customization enterprises, such as long product development cycle and difficult sharing of experience. In addition, this system also can be used in welding process design of other welding products such as the fixed pressure vessel, reaction kettle and heat exchanger, and so on.
