The design of ring die is based on the experience, which use good quality materials and the large size to ensure the strength and service life of the ring die. The choice of structural parameters of the ring die is only a more merit-based choice process, which is not in the true sense of optimization. For the above shortcomings, this paper made the following points:1) Discuss the load distribution on the ring die when ring die works and Establish the the force model of the ring die. The results show that the distribution of pressure on granulating hole was exponential increasing and on the cone was a power decreasing function; the angle of cone must be Less than a certain angle, otherwise the Grain can not be squeezed out The granulation hole; it needs to choose a different ratio that Length to diameter when granulating the same sizes and different densities.2) Using the finite element analysis software ANSYS to analys ring die.Results show that the ring die may appear the maximum stress in the two places:one is the area of the entrance of a straight hole that in the outermost row on the side of the free end. when the maximum stress exceed the material yield limit, the hole will be crushing; the other area is in the hole wall that belong to the first row near the constraints side, the maximum stress of this area will affect the fatigue life of the ring die.3) Establish the optimum design model of the ring die. The model takes into account production efficiency of ring die, safe life and other factors.4) Using genetic algorithm to design the ring die,programming in VC++6.0and building the application.This article is an exploratory research project which use the basic theory, computer technology, modern mechanical design completed. it has a certain reference value and practical value.
