The urban is getting more and more central and important to international society disasterdefense and reduction as a huge disaster bearing body. The diversity of frequent urban disaster aswell as the severity of lost and damage have threatened to the development of urban economicsociety. The integrative capability of disaster prevention, defense, salvation and resilience directlyreflected on the base and capability of urban sustainable development. The city disaster sciencereasonable management to achieve the best means of disaster reduction. This article in view ofShanxi province city disaster management capacity evaluation for the following several aspects ofresearch:First, Define the city disaster comprehensive management ability. Based on in reference todomestic and international related research results of city disaster. Binding of each city in Shanxiprovince natural environment and economic conditions, Establishment of the province of Shanxicity disaster management capability evaluation index system.Second, by use of the established index system, according to the11cities of Shanxi provinceand the related data by using principal component analysis method to carry on the empiricalanalysis. Selected11prefecture-level city comprehensive management ability of the sort results. Inaccordance with the city disaster management capability of the selected region is divided into threecategories. And one by one the three types of regions of the city disaster management capacity.Third, combine with the actual situation of the disaster management ability in Shanxi provincecity. Put forward the practical and feasible countermeasures and suggestions.
