Because of the complexity of the building itself and the inside and outside environmental control, it is sometimes difficult to determine the merits of design and to compare the size of its various effects on the environment only by qualitative analysis. By creating and defining a direct link between the design parameters of building envelope, the use-phase energy consumption of the construction and the full life-cycle cost, this dissertation can help architects to make design decisions based on full life-cycle.Firstly, through the survey on buildings in Harbin, the typical city in cold area, dynamic simulation models of energy consumption of building in cold area were created, blow―The energy efficiency design standards for public building―GB50189-2005 and the local standard― the implementation details of Heilongjiang Province for the energy efficiency design standards for public building‖DB23/1269-2008. The relationship between the design parameters of building envelope and the energy consumption in use phase in cold area like Harbin were analyzed. Therefore the sensitivity of the energy consumption to the changes of the various design parameters of building envelope was obtained, as well as the influence of these parameters, such as window-wall area ratio, building size based on optimal shape factor, and the materials of walls and windows, on energy consumption in Harbin.Secondly, according to data characteristics, the dissertation used multiple linear regression analysis to study the differences of the comprehensive influence of various design parameters of building envelope on the energy consumption, and integrated analyzed the relative importance of envelope design parameters to the energy consumption level in typical urban area. Finally, using full life cycle energy consumption theory, the design parameters of the building envelope were substituted into the study, according to the full life cycle assessment theory, and the relationship between various design parameters of building envelope, full life cycle energy consumption and environmental impact factors was obtained. Then the dissertation analyzed energy-saving value and potential of several new applications of the building envelope construction in cold area, and discussed the prospects for those applications in those regions. The results of this dissertation can further refine the energy efficiency standards of the public building design, and also have some guidance to the building envelope design and reconstruction in the cold area, as well as to the development of the relevant norms.
