China railway construction has entered the era of high-speed railway. At present, high-speed railways are being built in desert, Gobi and sand, which requires higher standards of windshield anti-sand work of railway construction. Based on the previous researches on wind flow by using numerical method, the researcher finds that no unified theory and models can be fully used to describe its characteristics. In this paper, the researcher targets at the sand flow field surrounding the Lanxin railway embankment in Gobi region through the employment of Fluent software for simulation study, and scientifically finds out the relatively high and low speed zones of sand flow movement around the embankment. The fluent calculation result of the distribution of sand and wind erosion is consistent with the actual situation, which proves the feasibility of this calculation method. Changing the initial velocity of the strong wind simulation is an approach to solve on-site problems of velocity measurement. Apart from the aspects above, the researcher further discusses the reasonable height of windshield anti-sand wall with the help of distribution of wind flow, gets its judgment prerequisite and provides the optimization method for the reasonable height of windshield anti-sand wall in Gobi wind area.
