Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a kind of chronic autoimmune inflammatory disease, mainly involves bone joints in the central axis such as sacroiliac joint, spinal column, etc. In recent years, the morbidity of this disease obviously tends to increase. It is characterized by hidden onset, long course, lingering and difficult to treat, high rate of misdiagnose and disabled spinal column. Therefore, how to improve therapeutic effect, decrease disability rate of patients and improve the quality of their life have become tasks of researchers in the same occupation at home and abroad.Acupotomy in treating AS, being the organic bond of local treatment and general regulation, has been proven to have marked therapeutic effect in clinic. To develop TCM innovative clinical technique and method with China auto-intellectual property, the mechanism and clinical method study of acupotomy in treating AS are discussed in the paper to achieve the purposes of illustrating the mechanism, improving the method and therapeutic effect. This therapy is expected to spread at home and abroad to benefit all mankind.Based on this theory, determined the body's local treatment sites, Sacroiliac joints and spine vertebrae spinous process, facet joints based, treating points supported by clinical.
