| Objective:To study the impact of quality of life of motion moxibustion and portable moxibustion therapy in the treatment of patients with advanced cancer, and to observe the comprehensive effectiveness of this therapy in pain and vomit which happen in patients with advanced cancer.Methods:32 cases with advanced cancer were divided into two groups randomly, the treatment group with 16 cases, the control group with 16 cases. The treatment group were adopted to treat with motion moxibustion and portable moxibustion except the conventional therapy, once a day for one month. The control group just received the conventional therapy. The KPS,the VAS and symptom-complex score were recorded, and these scores were analyzed by SPSS 13.0 statistical software.Results:(1) After treatment, the KPS in the treatment group were increased significantly(P <0.01), but it was not significant in the control group. After treatment, the two groups have significant difference(P<0.05), which means the treatment group is better than the control group on the KPS. (2)On the VAS, there was significant difference(P<0.05)between prior-treatment and post-treatment in the treatment group. After treatment, the two groups have not significant difference(P=0.309, P=0.464). (3)On the comprehensive effectiveness, some clinical symptoms were improved in both groups. On the rate of excellence, the treatment group was higher than the control group, but it was not significant difference(P=0.60>0.05).Conclusions:(1)Motion moxibustion and portable moxibustion can significantly improve the quality of life in patients with advanced cancer. (2)Motion moxibustion and portable moxibustion can significantly relieve the pain of patient with advanced cancer. (3)Motion moxibustion and portable moxibustion are effective therapies in treating advanced cancer. |
