| Objective:To observe the effect of acupuncture combined with therapeutic exercise to treat the Shoulder-Hand Syndrome (SHS) after stroke. To study the therapeutic effects of acupuncture combined with therapeutic exercise on SHS after stroke and to supply the evidence of its clinical application. Methods:In the patients coming to Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine first hospital, select 60 patients that meet the inclusion criteria. The 60 patients adopts small sample confrontation test to divide the patients into treatment group (EG) and control group (CG).30 cases in each groups. Two groups of patients both apply treatment for basic disease. Patients in the treatment group were treated with both acupuncture and therapeutic exercise. Patients in the control group were treated only with therapeutic exercise. The courses were three weeks. Scores of upper limb movement function, pain, edema and daily activities of the two groups before and after treatment are evaluated by Fugl-Meyer Motor Function Assessment, visual analogue scales (VAS) and activities of daily living (ADL) for analysis of the treatment effectiveness. Results:All data were processed by SPSS 16.0 package. The scores of the two groups about the upper limb Fugl-Meyer motor function scores and the visual measurement scores on pain and edema is no significant difference before the treatment, p>0.05.The two groups both improve the upper limb Fugl-Meyer motor function scores, and both decrease the visual measurement scores on pain and edema, p<0.05.Therefore,the two therapeutic methods can both ameliorate the clinical symptoms of hand-shoulder syndrome, but the therapy group obviously have an advantage to the control group.Conclusions:1. Acupuncture combined with therapeutic exercise to treat the Shoulder-Hand Syndrome (SHS) after strokes has a better clinical effect. 2. The acupuncture combined with therapeutic exercise group was more effective than therapeutic exercise group. |
