Objective:Through evaluating the effects of treating different parts of the body by external therapeutics of traditional Chinese medicine, reveal the existence that there are some influences on prognosis between Cervical Spondylosis Radiculopathy and lateral epicondylitis. Meanwhile, provide other capability of diagnosis and treatment for these two diseases.Methods:90 patients, meeting the inclusion criteria in orthopedics department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group. To treatment group (30 patients), the method of TCM fumigation and steaming is used on both posterior neck and lateral epicondyle of humerus. To control group A (30 patients),the method of TCM fumigation and steaming is used on posterior neck, while hot water fumigation and steaming is used on lateral epicondyle of humerus. To control group B (30 patients),the method of TCM fumigation and steaming is used on lateral epicondyle of humerus, while hot water fumigation and steaming is used on posterior neck. To treatment group and control groupA (30 patients),make integration of clinical symptoms about Cervical Spondylosis Radiculopathy and the efficacy standards of Cervical Spondylosis Radiculopathy in Criteria of Diagnosis and Therapeutic Effect of TCM Diseases as clinical indexes. To treatment group and control groupB (30 patients), make visual analogue scale(VAS)and the efficacy standards of lateral epicondylitis in Criteria of Diagnosis and Therapeutic Effect of TCM Diseases as clinical indexes. Use the so ft ware of systematology SPSS18.0 to deal with indexes above and draw the final conclusion. Results:the indexes improve that: 1 treatment group and control group A:(1) According to integration of clinical symptoms about Cervical Spondylosis Radiculopathy, there are statistical differences between two groups before and after treatment (P<0.01).And there are statistical differencesbetween two groups after treatment(P<0.05).(2) There are statistical differences between overall effects of two groups(P<0.05).2 treatment group and control group B:(1) According to VAS, there arestatistical differences between two groupsbefore and after treatment (P<0.01).And there arestatistical differences between two groups after treatment(P<0.05).(2) There are statistical differences betweenoverall effects of two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:To patient who have both Cervical Spondylosis Radiculopathy and lateral epicondylitis, treating only one disease is not more effective than treating both of them. This phenomenon prove that there are some influences on prognosis between Cervical Spondylosis Radiculopathy and lateral epicondylitis.
