Effect Of Different PFM Materials On The Level Of Endotoxin In Gingival Crevicular Fluid

ObjectiveTo investigate the changes of gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) volume and the level of endotoxin in GCF during different materials porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) crowns restoration. The relationship between the level of endotoxin and the health of periodontal tissue was discussed and the effect of different inner crown material can help us which material should be chosen.MethodsThe anterior teeth of 60 patients by random were conceived the restoration of Ni-Cr alloy PFM, Co-Cr alloy PFM, Au-Pt alloy PFM. Under the circumstances of strictly limiting crown axial contour, margin adaptation and periodontal conditions, the margin of crowns. They were divided into 4 groups, of which per group were 20 teeth. GCF was collected before the tooth preparation by filter paper. At the point of 1 month and 6 months after compellation GCF collected at the same sites. At same time, clinical observation indexes were recorded.Results1. Compared to pre-restoration, the clinical observation indexes, the volume of GCF, the level of endotoxin have no conspicuous difference in Ni-Cr alloy PFM group after 1 month; however they have marked difference after 6 months.2. Compared to pre-restoration, the clinical observation indexes, the volume of GCF, the level of endotoxin have no conspicuous difference in Co-Cr alloy PFM group after 1 month; however they have marked difference after 6 months.3. Compared to pre-restoration, the clinical observation indexes, the volume of GCF, the level of endotoxin have no conspicuous difference in Au-Pt alloy PFM group.4. Compared to Ni-Cr alloy PFM group and Co-Cr alloy PFM group, the clinical observation indexes, the volume of GCF, the level of endotoxin have no conspicuous difference after 1 month and after6 months.5. Compared to Ni-Cr alloy PFM group and Au-Pt alloy PFM group, the clinical observation indexes, the volume of GCF, the level of endotoxin have no conspicuous difference after 1 month; however they have marked difference after 6 months.6. Compared to Co-Cr alloy PFM group and Au-Pt alloy PFM group, the clinical observation indexes, the volume of GCF, the level of endotoxin have no conspicuous difference after 1 month; however they have marked difference after 6 months.7.The positive correlation was found between the level of endotoxin and the clinical observation indexes and the volume of GCFConclusions1. Ni-Cr alloy and Co-Cr alloy PFM group 6 months after repair showed inflammatory changes in periodontal tissues2. Au-Pt alloy PFM group 6 months after repair showed no inflammatory changes in periodontal tissues.3. Ni-Cr alloy PFM and Co-Cr alloy were susceptible to inflammation of the periodontal tissue; therefore, we should take noble mental PFM as possible as we can in the clinic.4. By endotoxin in gingival crevicular fluid contents can be compared easily and accurately the dynamic observation of porcelain crown on the periodontium, in a relatively good clinical applications.
