Objective:To investigate the expression of miR-203 and miR-34b in the Kazakan's esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and it's clinic pathological significance.Methods:LNA-ISH was used to detect the expression of miR-203 in 54 cases of ESCC and 30 cases of non- cancerous adjacent tissue (NCAT) and miR-34b in 51 cases of ESCC and 23 cases of NCAT. Date is dealed with the software SPSS 13.0 statistics.Results:1.The result of miR-203:(1)The miR-203 positive rates of miR-203 expression in ESCC and NCAT were 37.0%(20/54),60.0%(18/30) respectively, with a significant difference between the two groups (x2=4.105,p<0.05) in situ hybridization. (2) The miR-203 methylation state in Kazakh ESCC was higher than in NCAT, but the positive rates of miR-203 expression is lower in ESCC than in NCAT. (3) Comparison between the expression level of miR-203 and clinical pathology characteristic (age, gender, tumor position, metastasis of lymph node, TNM staging, differentiation degree), there were no difference (p>0.05). (4)The positive rates of miR-203 expression in infiltration deep group and shallow group were 22.2%(2/9) and 60.0%(27/45), respectively, with a significant difference between the two groups (x2=4.458,p<0.05). (4)The positive rates of miR-203 expression HPV16-positive and HPV16-negative 34.9%(15/43) and 44.4%(4/9), No significant difference of relative expression of miR-203 was found between between the two groups (x2=0.026,p>0.05).2. The result of miR-34b:(1)The positive rates of miR-34b expression in ESCC and NCAT were 11.8%(6/45) and 28.6%(6/23),There was not significant difference beween the two groups (x2=2.39,p>0.05). (2) The expression level of miR-34b and clinical pathology characteristic (age, gender, tumor position, metastasis of lymph node, TNM staging, differentiation degree) have no significant difference (p>0.05).Conclusions:1. The miR-203 expression in ESCC is lower than that in NCAT,which may be subject to inactivation by CpG methylation. The miR-34b expression have no significant difference in ESCC and NCAT, Its reason needs further research.2. The miR-203 expression maybe association with clinic biological behaviour of ESCC.
