Objective: To discuss the significance and level changes of urinary albumin/creatinine ratio (UACR) and serum cystatin C (Cys C) on type 2 diabetic nephropathy patients. Methods: 38 cases as normal control group, besides, the 122 patients with type 2 diabetes were divided into 42 cases of no proteinuria group (DM1 group), 40 cases of microalbuminuria group (DM2 group) and 40 cases of macroproteinuria group (DM3 group) according to 24h urinary albumin excretion rate (UAER). The level of blood glucose (FPG), glycohemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), serum Cys C, urinary albumin, urinary creatinine, UACR, UAER and Serum creatinine (Scr) were detected, and compared between different groups.Result: FPG, HbA1c of type 2 diabetes in each group were significantly higher than normal control group (P<0.05), The levels of UACR and serum cystatin C in microalbuminuria group and macroproteinuria group were significantly higher than that of healthy group (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference between no proteinuria group and healthy group(P>0.05), UACR, Cys C were positive correlated with HbA1c.Conclusion: There was definite reference on the occurrence, development and prognosis of diabetic nephropathy to detect the levels of UACR and serum cystatin C, they could be used as sensitive markers for early diagnosis of development of diabetes on nephropathy.
