ObjectiveTo observe the characteristics of hand motor cortex of the ataxia patients performing two motor tasks(initiatively and passively finger-to-thumb opposition movements in turn) with bold oxygenation level dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging (BOLD-fMRI),for further explore the masonic movement mechanism obstacles and lay the foundation for rehabilitationMaterials and MethodsSelected 12 right-handed healthy volunteers in Kailuan hospital were scanned the mode of whole-brain BOLD-fMRI examination while they were performing the two types of active and passive movement tasks. Recording the corresponding motor cortex's active volume and intensity, for further study in Patients with ataxia provide a basis for BOLD-fMRI. 27 patients of motor cortex lesion in coordination in the department of Neurology of Kailuan hospital from January in 2010 to Dencember in 2010 were performed fMRI examination, as well as the ICARS. Recording of motor cortex active volume and intensity, and make quantitive analysis of them using spss13.0.ResultsThis study in 12 cases, passive and active healthy volunteers to refer to two sports mode movement, the left hand (of the right hand and on the hand) contralateral SMC means sports activation was statistically significant volume difference (P < 0.05). Active and passive compared to refers to exercise, activate the contralateral SMC volume difference was statistically significant (P > 0.05), activate the ipsilateral cerebellar volume difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05), activate the ipsilateral cerebellar intensity difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).27 cases ataxia patients in the active and passive sports, sports of refers to the volume of the contralateral SMC activation, strength below normal, disparities exist statistical significance (P < 0.05).27 cases ataxia patients in the active and passive when to refer to hand movement, with motion activated ipsilateral cerebellum appear rates lower than normal, disparities exist statistically significant (P < 0.05). With hand moves actively activate ipsilateral cerebellar volume, strength less than normal, disparities exist statistically significant (P < 0.05). 27 patients'motor cortex active volume and intensity in cerebellum on fMRI and ICARS scores showed no statistically correlation(P>0.05).ConclusionsHealthy volunteers to refer to the active and passive two sports mode movement of the levites, hand in hand with the contralateral SMC means motion activated differences volume; Active and passive compared to refers to exercise, activate the contralateral SMC volume without difference; Activate the ipsilateral cerebellar volume difference; Activate the ipsilateral cerebellar strength no difference. Ataxia patients at hand when initiative, passive sport contralateral SMC activate volume, strength below the normal group and prompt functions damaged. Ataxia patients at hand when active movement with side the intensity and volume activation cerebellum were significantly less than the normal group, a function of normal decline. Ataxia patients at hand when active movement with side cerebellar activate area and ataxia rating scale (ICARS) no obvious correlation.
