Clinical Research On Catgut Implantation At Acupoints For Treatment Of Simple Obesity Of Different Gender

ObjectiveTo compare the clinical effect of catgut implantation at acupoints on simple obesity of different gender, and discuss the mechanism.Methodssixty cases were divided into a female group(30 cases) and a male group(30 cases), all use catgut implantation at acupoints for treatment and the same acupuncture points, treat once 15 days, four times for one period, observe curative effect after two months, and to estimate the body weight, BMI, waistline, hip, percentage of body fat,TC, TG, LDL, HDL before and after treatment.ResultsAfter 1 course of treatment, there were a total of 28 patients in the female group:2 were clinically recovered,8 were very effective,15 were effective and 3 were ineffective, with a total effective rate of 89.28%; there were a total of 27 patients in the electro-acupuncture group:3 were clinically recovered,14 were very effective,8 were effective and 2 were ineffective, with a total effective rate of 92.59%. The results in the two groups were analyzed by the Radit test,and was found that there was no statistical significance between the two groups (P>0.05), the total effective rate was tested by the Chi-square test and there was no statistical significance found between the two groups. After treatment, the body weight,BMI,waistline,hip, the percentage of body of the two groups were obviously descended(P< 0.01), TC, TG, LDL were descended and the HDL was increased(P<0.05). There was remarkably statistical significance between the female group and the male group on the body weight, BMI, waistline, hip and percentage of body fat (P<0.01), tha male group is well improving on the body weight and BMI, the female group is well improving on the others, but there was no statistical significance between the two groups on the, TC, TG, LDL and HDL (P>0.05).Conclusionscatgut implantation at acupoints was effective to different gender of simple obesity,and currently can not prove that there was differences between, catgut implantation can effectively improve indicators of simple obesity, which was well improve in males' body weight and body mass index (BMI), but well improve in females' waistline,hip and percentage of body fat, the improvement of blood lipids was not yet comparable. Rational diet, exercise are helpful to improving the effective of losing weight, catgut implantation at acupoints is simple, minimally invasive and good effect, treatment for patients while saving time, it is worth of clinical application.
