Objective:To study the correlation of the changes of blood lactate level and APACHE II score in severe ill patients and predict severity and prognosis of patients. Methods:From Jan 2009 to Dec 2009 in our hospital ICU,72 severe ill patients were divided into 3 groups by doffernt APACHE II scores(11-20,20-30 and>30).The lactate levels were compared in 3 groups. The APACHE II score and arterial blood lactate levels were analyzed in death group (29cases) and survival group (43cases). The correlation of APACHE II score and arterial blood lactate levels within 24h groups hospitalized were analyzed. Results:The arterial blood lactate levels in patients with different APACHE II score had significantly differences (F=104.72,P<0.05),and The arterial blood lactate levels in patients with APACHE II score>30 group and 21-30 group,21-30 group and 11-20 group had significantly differences (q③-②=10.62,q②-①=9.84, P<0.05). The arterial blood lactate levels(9.12±2.95 mmol/L)of death group was significantly higher than that of the survival group(4.56±0.78mmol/L) (P<0.05).Conclusion:The dynamic blood lactic acid levels in severe ill patients are increased with the increasing APACHE II scores, which are good monitoring indicators in critical illness patients and should be concerned in clinic.
