| Objective: Humulus, which is annually voluble herbage plant, belongs to humulus genus of mulberry section of dicotyledonous class of angiosperm phylum. By now humulus pollen has been one of the main pollen allergen besides rag weed and mugwort during summer and autumn seasons in China. Pollen allergy is normally characterized by pollen disease, popular for young and middle-aged adults, infected mainly from nose, eyes, bronchi and skin, showing obvious features of seasonal diseases. The diseasetime is nearly identical each year, with specific regionality, only limited in the pollen dispersing region. The nasal symptoms include itching, sneezing, thin nebula and tampon. The nasal viscous secretion occurs after sneezing, with a period of 1~3 months. Some patients have symptoms of eye itching and epiphora, some with a complication of bronchial asthma. Recently, allergic rhinitis is considered as a multifactor induced disease, showing obvious genetic predisposition besides environment and immunization, though the genetic gene is still unclear. In this work, we study the correlation of humulus pollen allergic rhinitis with HLA—DQA1 gene in Shenyang region.Method: AR group: selected in our hospital from humulus pollen allergic rhinitis patients with obvious seasonal diseasetime. Control group: consisting of healthy people, exclusive of those with allergic history or family allergic history.Using PCR-SSP (sequence- specific primer polymerase chain reaction), we tested the frequency distribution of HLA-DQA1 alleles in 74 patients with allergic rhinitis (AR) and 54 healthy controls from Shenyang, China. Using PCR-SSP (sequence- specific primer polymerase chain reaction), we tested the frequency distribution of HLA-DQA1 alleles in 74 patients with allergic rhinitis(AR) and 54 healthy controls from Shenyang China.Result: The frequence of HLA-DQA1*0104 was higher in AR than in controls (37.8% vs 0%, P<0.01); The frequence of HLA-DQA1*0501 was lower in AR than in controls (3.38% vs 24.07%, P<0.01).Conclusion: HLA-DQA1*0104 might be predisposing genes of AR; HLA-DQA1*0501 might confer protection against AR. |
