To explore the relationship of clinical features and molecular pathology of Hainan provincial patients with thyroid carcinoma.Methods:239clinical cases of Hainan nationality patients with thyroid carcinoma treated in Hainan Provincial People's Hospital from2006to2010were retrospectively analyzed.65cases of thyroid caicinoma's specimens,15cases of thyroid nodules'specimens and10cases of normal thyroid tissue's specimens were used to detect the expression of Survivin protein, apoptotic index and BRAF gene mutation in IHC, TUNEL and PCR-SSCP.Results: The clinical retrospective analysis showed that44,40,37,64and54cases of thyroid carcinoma were treated in Hainan provincial People's Hospital from2006to2010year; Ethnic composition ratio between cases and local population have a significant difference (χ2=21.376, P<0.01); Urban and rural ratio between eastern and western area have a significant difference (χ2=4.420, P<0.05). The239cases were consisted of228cases (95.4%) of papilarry thyroid carcinoma,7cases (2.92%) of medullary thyroid carcinoma, both2cases(0.84%) of follicular thyroid carcinoma and anaplastic thyroid carcinoma.Molecular pathological study revealed that high positive expression's Survivin protein was45cases (69.23%) in experiment group while4cases (16%) in the control group (χ2=17.72, P<0.01); Survivin protein in carcinoma tissues and infiltration (r=0.3, P<0.05), lymph node metastasis (r=0.264, P<0.05); The AI of high positive expression's Survivin protein group was lower than that in control group.(t=-21.95, P<0.01).(t=-21.95, P<0.01).SSCP discovered that BRAF gene mutation and cancer tissue infiltration (r=0.408, P<0.01) and lymph node metastasis (r=0.435, P<0.01); BRAF gene mutation and Survivin protein positive expression (r=0.612, P<0.01); There was a significant difference for the cancer tissue infiltration (χ2=17.72, P<0.01) and lymph node metastasis (χ2=17.72, P<0.01) between patients appeared BRAF gene mutation together with Survivin protein positive expression and any single abnormality.Conclusions:①The patients with thyroid carcinoma hospitalized in Hainan Provincial People's Hospital tended to young, Ethnic differences, Regional difference and unique Pathological type.②The expression of Survivin protein in patients with thyroid carcinoma was associated with cancer tissue infiltration, lymph node metastasis and cell apoptosis.③The BRAF gene mutation in patients with thyroid cancer existed only in Papillary carcinoma of the thyroid.
