A Study On The English Translation Of Lang Tuteng From The Perspective Of Image-schema Theory

The cognitive linguistic as a new language study branch has gradually become the hot researching point was accepted by the language scholars. As a rather important language theory, the image-schema theory has developed itself fast with the advanced steps of cognitive linguistic. As a new linguistic branch, the image-schema theory has become more and more attention by more scholars.This paper takes the English translation version of Lang Tuteng as researching example; try to analysis the receiving and loss of Lang Tuteng translation from the perspective of image-schema theory, will discuss the translation application of the image schema theory from the examples. The goal of this paper is trying to put the image-schema theory into literature translation field, which is a exploring researching in this field.It is still a rather new perspective to interpret English translations in translation field. Different branches of study on Image-scheme come out one after another in translation; therefore, there is few research on English translations from image-schema perspective. First this paper makes detailed discussion about feasibility of this topic, and then it supports the interpretation from aspects of vocabulary, sentence and text. Through analysis of translation paragraphs in Lang Tuteng, the application of Image-Schema theory in Lang Tuteng English translation is narrated and image-schema's explanative power in translation theory is put forward. Image-schema theory functions as guiding of the creation of literature translations is proved through both cultural images transmit and linguistic images'transmit. Finally the research shows that image-schema theory plays an indispensable guiding role in study on English translations and has certain explanative power on analysis of English translation study.
