Great importance has been attached to the studying of the linguistic Motivation study. Meanwhile, there is also a universal concern among the scholars about the study of Chinese Words' motivation. The Motivation of words, in short, is the motivation of words'invention, change and development. In teaching foreigners Chinese, the vocabulary is not only basic but also essential. Vocabulary teaching is aimed to enable the learners to master the accurate meaning of the words and to put them into practice. Therefore, it is bound to promote teaching and learning efficiency if the word's motivation is added to the process of teaching.The paper starts with the pervious research of vocabulary motivation, and analyzes and studies the fruits of the forerunners and intends to make new discovery from them. Beside, the paper tries to combine the analysis from "The Graded Chinese Words for the Application of Teaching Chinese to the Speakers of Other Languages", aiming to put forward some aids in Teaching Chinese as for and some teaching suggestions and strategies.There are altogether five chapters in the paper.The first chapter is a preface, which covers the background, current situation, purpose, significance and studying approaches of vocabulary motivation studying.Chapter one is centered on vocabulary motivation studying by referring to the theories from previous researchers. Meanwhile, it contains the connotation, classification and studying approaches of the words motivation。Chapter two, which is based on"The Graded Chinese Words for the Application of Teaching Chinese to the Speakers of Other Languages", means to analyze the examples by selecting the nouns,which have a stronger motivation.Chapter three is the application of vocabulary motivation in teaching. It is the combination of the study of words motivation and teaching Chinese as foreign language , summarizing the benefits of vocabulary motivation in teaching and giving some advice on vocabulary motivation application.Chapter four is the conclusion part, trying to figure out the author's new discoveries and personal limitation.
