With the development of science and technology, and the acceleration of the process of globalization, English has undoubtedly been becoming the official language of cultural communication, economic and trade today. While Chinese international status has increasingly risen, and the international exchanges more frequently, our country's requirement of cultivating the students'ability of foreign languages communication is becoming higher. In five language skills, "listening" is most important. Therefore, to improve the students'ability of foreign language communication, the key is to improve the level of listening teaching. Although Chinese scholars have strengthened the attention of listening teaching, and various English exams increased the proportion of the listening comprehension part, due to under the guidance of traditional instructional design, the listening teaching class has still stayed in the "playing-listening" mode. It's hard to really improve listening teaching, and students'listening skills are hard to migrate to real life situations. Students cannot understand the content of listening, how to talk about communication.So we need a kind of brand-new instructional design model, to overturn the traditional based on "atomic theory" of the instructional design concept. Listening is no longer a simple, mechanical process, is no longer isolating separated from language. Not for "listen" to teach "listen", but integrate "listen" with other language skills, and take place the instructional design which based on the overall task.This article thoroughly research about the instructional design model based on overall task which experts pays more attention and has been proved successful-Four-Component Instructional Design Model(4C/ID mode), do instructional design which based on overall task to the lesson of "The College English Listening Comprehension", select and in-depth exploration case. And it can help scholars further explore the instructional design model which based on overall task, and provide support to the foreign language teachers more effective classroom instructional mode.
