Henry James was a famous novelist, stylist and critic in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, who has an important influence in the history of western literature. The Portrait of a Lady, Daisy Miller ,Washington Square,Madame de Mauves,Four meetings and An International Episode were written in his early period. The feminine images in these six novels are very bright and reflect Henry James'feminine consciousness adequately. Based on the text of these six novels in his period, this thesis analyses the feminine character of American feminine images which crowd in James'Early Period novels and also shows American specific culture connotation about these American women of James'novels to proclaim James'sense of Europe and America's culture merging together. The first chapter is on the basis of the definition of feminine consciousness which to confirm new feminin consiciousness, and discusses specific feminine images of these nonels. The second chapter analyses no sense of belonging of these novels'women and discuss the basic reasons. The third chapter is about James model of Europe and American by the angle of Ameican spirit on these American femininity.
