| There are many mounds like steamed bread on the ground of the downstream plain of Yangtze River, including the south of Anhui, Zhejiang and Jiangsu province. The size of these mounds is different, and, usually, a lot of these mounds can be found in one area. This is what people called "Mound-remains". By many scholars'studying, we know that this kind of tomb is exists only in Jiangnan area of Shan and Zhou Period, and it has a close relationship to the culture of Wu and Yue. Since the 1950s, the scholars have started to research on this particular burial and its properties, characteristics, stage, ethnicity and other issues. However, because of lacking systematic material, there are still many problems which are difficult to form a unified opinion in the current study. In Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, the scholars have a more deep understanding to the mound-remains in that area due to the increasing discovery material. But, in the south of Anhui province, such discovery material is very limited. The knowledge and understanding of mound-remains is not thorough and meticulous and only concentrate in bronze of mound-remains in Tunxi area.In the third national survey on cultural relics, cultural heritage of Fanchang county conducted investigation of mound-remains in Wanniu village of Zhang River Region. Similar survey was carried on Longtoushan area of Nanling county and Liujiashan area of junction between Nanling and Jing county. Lots of material from this survey and experience of the remote sensing investigation to Qianfengshan area help us to get the distribution characteristics and laws of the mound-remains.Much valuable information was obtained in the large-scale excavation of mound-remains in Longtoushan and Liujiashan area of Zhang River Region from Beijing-Fuzhou high speed railway mining activities. Combining the data of excavation of mound-remains in Qianfengshan area of Nanling county and Pingpu village of Fanchang county last century and research results in other area, we discuss the age of mound-remains preliminarily by using typology method and analyze the ethnicity and cultural nature of mound-remains in this area refer to other literature. |
