Tang Dynasty Folk Songs Studies

Tang dynasty is a period of prosperity in feudal society. Different varieties of literature developed well in Tang dynasty. With the poem prosperity, ballad of Tang dynasty developed its own characteristic that different from others dynasties. The feature of the ballad influenced the writers'writing in some fields.This thesis consists of five parts.The introduction mainly explains the scope of folk songs, analyses the differences between the ballads and the folk songs, clarifies the present situation of the research to Tang ballads, the significance of this thesis and basic ideas.Chapter 1 and chapter 2 classify the content of the ballads and the folk songs. With analysis on the writings, we can see the society condition of Tang dynasty.Chapter 3 mainly analyses the feature of Tang ballad from three mentions:content, form, diction. And it discusses the reasons that formed these characteristics.Chapter 4 elaborates Tang ballads'status and influence. It mainly discusses the relation between Tang ballad and writers'poetries. Furthermore, it also has a preliminary study on the relations between Tang ballad and Ci.
