English Viewing, Listening&Speaking in Vocational College, as a new course, has recently appeared in the Vocational College English teaching in china with its prominent features of its times. But being influenced by the traditional teaching evaluation mode, the teaching of English Viewing, Listening&Speaking in Vocational College has taken the summative evaluation as the major. This kind of mode doesn't suit the reform to the teaching of English Viewing, Listening&Speaking in Vocational College. Through the analysis of authentic assessment and the problems in current the teaching of English Viewing, Listening&Speaking in Vocational College, we found the coupling between authentic assessment ideas and the teaching of English Viewing, Listening&Speaking in Vocational College. So authentic assessment has been introduced in process of the teaching of English Viewing, Listening&Speaking in Vocational College .The present research started in September, 2009, lasting one year. We designed a set of authentic assessment system, which involves standards establishment, authentic tasks chosen, and rubrics designing. We used the most three familiar modes of authentic assessment method: performance assessment, portfolio assessment and observation-based assessment. Through analyzing the effect of the methods, we can learn that it is feasible to conduct authentic assessment in the teaching of English Viewing, Listening&Speaking in Vocational College, authentic assessment can help to motivate students'interest. In addition, the study shows that it not only helps teachers and students find the shortcomings in learning and overcome them to promote students'ability to study by themselves, but also has practical valve in cultivating students'ability to use the language.Authentic assessment is a new kind of evaluation model, we may face a lot of problems in applied research, such as the validity of authentic assessment, the reliability of authentic assessment, the workload of teachers and the burden of students. How to improve still needs a great deal of practical experience and theoretical innovation. We hope that the research in this paper can be helpful, and the research can promote the reform of the teaching of English Viewing, Listening&Speaking in Vocational College.
