| This paper took The Contemporary Chinese Dictionary (the 5th edition) and Oxford Advanced Learner's English-Chinese Dictionary (the 7th edition) as the major research objects. We adopted quantitative and qualitative, descriptive and interpretative research methodologies to describe, compare and interpret the category of love and hate of psych verbs.This paper was divided into five chapters. The first chapter presented the significance of the topic, situation of study, research method and the source of corpus. The second chapter redefined the conception of psych verbs. According to its semantic characteristics and grammatical functions, investigate and identify which psych verbs belong to the category of love and hate. The third chapter conducted semantic analysis of the category of love and hate of psych words in Chinese and English. The fourth chapter described the grammatical analysis of psych verbs, and summarized its sentence patterns and its grammatical function. The fifth chapter summarized the content of the former four chapters. |
