During the current new period of history, under the condition of market economy, human's surviving factors appear to be pattern of diversity. This point of view is also right in the field of painting education. Many kinds of universities (or colleges) are developing painting majors vigorously in the country. With the increasing of the number of enrollments, there are more students who learn to draw, the industry of painting education has developed to be most prosperous in the history. At the same time, there are some problems which are exposed in the process of development. For example, the Chinese painting direction of art major in universities or colleges, is affected by west drawing idea, has lost its own position, in the aspects of installing of enrollment examination subject and arrangement of course. There is not a Chinese painting subject as a university entrance exam subject, so that the students deviate the aesthetic standards of traditional Chinese painting during the starting period when the way of observing and understanding is established. Currently, the courses for most Chinese painting major are basically similar to and synchronous with the courses for western painting major, ignored the feature of Chinese painting major. The developing principle of Chinese painting teaching should start from the traditional culture, follow and improve the traditional studying way, considering the practical situation of current college teaching.This dissertation generally presents the heritage pattern and studying way for ancient Chinese painting. On the basis of current Chinese painting teaching, it proposes several points of improving the ideas of Chinese painting teaching. Based on the tradition, the teaching mode of Chinese painting of current period is struggled to be perfected and developed.The heritage from teacher to students is stressed in the field of traditional Chinese painting, especially the spirit heritage from teacher to students is emphasized. Not only does student learn from teacher to draw, but also learn to grow up. In the learning and living of long period, the learning way of experience is the right way for the Chinese painting to be inherited healthily. On the other aspect, there were systematic method and principle to learn to draw in ancient china. Xiehe in Nanqi dynasty gave the earliest drawing theory book in our country,"six methods theory"in which has the greatest value."six methods theory"gave the systematic judging standards for Chinese painting. This scientific theory should be used for one to learn Chinese painting. It is a kind of general interpretation which is used to judge Chinese painting. Current Chinese painting teaching in universities or colleges should also use this traditional standard. The students are asked to understand Chinese painting from the right starting point, not only to judge from the objective picture effect, but also to accept the spirit nature from painter, so that the students can correctly understand traditional Chinese painting, which is convenient to further study.For a long time, the westernization extent of academic art teaching is very high in our country, the idea of enhancing the proportion of traditional culture learning in Chinese painting teaching which is put forward by some colleges has not become true. The reasons resulting into this condition are various. As Chinese painting teaching, it should help students really know the essence of Chinese traditional culture and learn real Chinese painting. So, the improving of teaching system of Chinese painting is very necessary. Concretely, the improvement should mainly include follow aspects: Firstly, the guidance of great exhibition. The diversity of exhibition development should be inspired, more paintings which are painted by people who have the rich cultural deposit can be enabled to enter into painting exhibitions , so painting style can become rich and aesthetic needs of people can be improved. The guidance of these sorts of authority academic activities will be important to the researching and teaching of Chinese painting. Secondly, teaching system and courses setting. The learning of Chinese traditional cultural should become the mainline in undergraduate course arrangement of four years and developing clear ideas about art is the target, preliminarily establish the painting thought of students, and help students master certain painting techniques, so the students not only have some of the painting skills, but also have rich theory knowledge, that should be the clear tasks of university undergraduate courses. Thirdly, the improvement of Teachers' professional quality. From Teachers' aspect, college teachers should have a solid painterly strength and profound artistic accomplishment, so the academic atmosphere of colleges can be more strong and healthy. Lastly, adjusting the examination contents of art professional: professional entrance examination of Chinese paintings should add the content which is real related to Chinese painting.
