Li Yu is a famous dramatist and novelist during the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. His literary works and theory played an important role in the later ages. This paper studies the communication and reception of Li Yu's dramas and Nihuaben novels in terms of communication science and reception-response theory, and unfolds the condition of Li Yu's works communication after theirs came out in China mainland.The full text amounts to four chapters.Chapter 1 makes commentary about the communication environment of Li Yu's dramas and Nihuaben novels. On the basis of literature receivers'definitions, the author observes and studies the spread of the dramas and novels, and the various acceptable responses in the Qing Dynasty and contemporary.Chapter 2 mainly investigates the text communication. It mainly contains the research of monograph publication, comment communication,banned law promulgation, literature series selection and literary history writing. Written text is the oldest kind of communication carriers.Text communication is the most important and reliable communication Media.Chapter 3 mainly investigates the drama and Qu Yi communication. It mainly contains the research of Li Yu's family troupe performance, professional troupe performance, court troupe performance and banned law promulgation. Compared with the text communication, it trends to wider communication range. It is one of the most popular channels by the people.Chapter 4 mainly investigates several other types. It contains adaptation communication, movies and television communication, internet communication. They are mutual interpenetration and combination, and promote and develop the communication of Li Yu's dramas and Nihuaben novels' prosperity.
