A Study Of Exclamatory Sentences In Middle Ancient Chinese

There are four categories of Chinese statement type and exclamatory sentence is an important one. Its main function is expressing the speaker's strong sensibility and attitude. The study of exclamatory sentence in Modern Chinese has begun very early and has some very important fruits, but the study of exclamatory sentence in Middle Ancient Chinese is very weak. This thesis tries to do some deep research on the base of analyzing deeply the corpus of the Middle Ancient Chinese.This thesis mainly researches the exclamatory sentence in Middle Ancient Chinese from syntactic forms, semantic features and pragmatics functions. Firstly, we observe exclamatory sentence in Middle Ancient Chinese form the point of syntactic forms. On the base of the corpus in Middle Ancient Chinese, We explore the characters of the forms by describing exclamatory sentences marked by interjections, mood words, adverbs and some special forms in detail. Then we discuss exclamatory sentence in Middle Ancient Chinese from the point of semantic features and pragmatics functions and discover its characters of usage and time characters.This thesis comes to a conclusion that the exclamatory sentence in Middle Ancient Chinese succeeds and develops from the time before it in the point of syntactic forms; its semantic features have many varieties; its pragmatics functions develop a lot. The Exclamatory Sentence in Middle Ancient Chinese has basically establish the syntactic, semantic and pragmatics frames for modern exclamatory sentence.
