It has been a long history since the business card generated and developed. Business card is worldwide, so the functions and the formations of it are developing freely. But mostly the design of business card is decided directly by the designers. This is the information explored time. By the growing up economy, business card as a carrier of data, it is in an irreplaceable status. It carries the most information of the card host of his personality and characteristic of his sector while social. How the design will be specialized for business card? What should be concern in the background of China? Design is defined as the sense of emotional. This article has a perspective of sense of rational. It analyzes the rational factors which are impacting the design or the information received from the card. It is the most difficult part to analyze as well. It is not only focus on the targets but also concentrates on other related disciplines such as psychology, medicine, physics and mathematics, social networks etc. the final conclusion is come out from the diverge knowledge.The factors of business card vary. You could never say it only merges the art and the company culture or the personality of the card owner. It refers the sector, the culture, and the personal situation of the receiver. So business card is a product of multi-factors. The article starts with the co-creation workshop of the topic which is a workshop put the designers, the card owners and the card receivers together. The writer facilitates the process but never interpret. By observing the three groups and understanding the results the key insights are dug out. Later the key insight will lead the flow of the analysis and the further research.Base on the key insights, desk research and field research are used as the two parts of the main research. From the statistic of the past, present and the future of the business card the article figures out the trend of business card design and understands the formats and the species of business card. The article finds out three main rational factors as follow,Formation factors:include visual factor, visual balance and visual representation. Through the three sections the article points out the rational principles of business card design by visual influence. Character factors:it discusses the worldwide used Chinese and Latin. It concerns the perspective, the distance, the speed and the necessary time of reading for analyzing the reasonable fonts and the font size.Other factors:take illustration, logo, color, material and shape as the main discussion.In the field research part, the writer did some survey and interview about the topic. Define and classify the main target. Know deeply the target needs and preferences.The last but not the least part of the article conclude the results of both research and the practices and get some inspirations,Firstly, from the co-creation part we know the user needs of holistic information, creative characteristic, high light title and use convenience. User expects in the future business card will have a big advantage if it could be combined with IT or biology.Secondly, by analyzing visual factor, visual balance, visual representation, Chinese, Latin, illustration, logo, color, material and shape then certain data, rules, or references are settled. So business card design is an emotional design which has the foundation of rational principle.Thirdly, different backgrounds, different sectors, different personal preferences, purpose and the occasion of using the card are impacting business card design, so the "user centre" should be priority.Fourthly, sustainable is becoming the future, so applying in the design, sustainable design and the sustainable concept should be the main concern for the designers to against the wastes.
