In recent years, translation studies have aroused many scholars'attention and made great progress. More and more scholars devote themselves to the studies of literary translation. However, as a branch of literary translation, the studies of children's literature translation are insufficient. With the communication among countries becoming frequent, many foreign children's literature books have been translated. Therefore, there is a pressing need for in-depth research on children's literature translation. Considering the special features of children's literature, scholars should provide a theoretical support for it so as to enrich the specific theories. The thesis aims to apply reception aesthetics into children's literature translation, in the hope of proving the feasibility of linking them together, which provides a broader view of this field. The core notion of reception aesthetics is reader-centered. Only when the literary work achieves the communication with readers and be accepted can it be regarded as a successful one. Since the target readers of children's literature are little children, it is of great guidance to make reception aesthetics as a framework of the studies of children's literature. The thesis chooses the three representative Chinese versions of Charlotte's Web, a famous piece of children's literature work written by E.B.White. By illustrating the interrelationship of the theory and the translation work, the thesis shows that reception aesthetics is accessible to the studies of children's literature translation.
