China has a large number of neighbors as Asia's largest country. Since ancient times, China has been in good relationships with the surrounding countries based on mutual trust and benefit, and the cooperation and exchange with neighboring countries also played an essential role for the promotion of China's development. It has been clearly pointed out that China will continue to enhance their solidarity and cooperation with other third world countries, increase mutual understanding and trust and strengthen mutual help and support, enlarge areas of cooperation and make it more fruitful in the report of 16th Chinese Communist Party Congress. And policy of friendship and partnership with neighboring countries is China's long-term foreign policy. However, China has a very complex geopolitical environment. The border areas surrounding China have a rich diversity in ethnic, religious, and faith. As the frontier region with neighboring countries, the border areas reflect the most prominent contradictions which contain boundary problems as well as cooperation problems between neighboring countries. The development level in border areas symbolizes China's relationship with its neighbors. Problems between neighboring countries are generally the problem on the border, so if there is no stability in the border, there is no stability in the country. In the new era under the framework of the harmony strategy, China's diplomacy strategies of neighboring countries must be further deepened and specific. Professor Su Hao proposed "inlaid diplomacy" strategic concept. This paper aimed to analyze China's diplomacy with the neighboring countries especially land neighbors by case studies to specify the "inlaid diplomacy" strategy.
