In May, 2010, the Cameron Coalition Government came into office, making it the first post-war Coalition Government in the UK. This text tries to reason the formation of the Cameron Coalition Government and its foreign policy. The background and reasons of the formation of the Coalition Government consist of the international financial crisis, clockwise turn of the European political weather, the Labor Party government's inappropriate decision-making on the questions like Iraqi War and so on.The Coalition Government seeks to establish"firm but not blind"relation with the United States and slightly adjust its US policy. However, the foundation of the"Special Relation"still exists and the British-US power structure does not change, thus the substance of the"Special Relation"would not change. On Europe policy, The Coalition Government pursues a pragmatic approach, hoping enhances its commercial ties with it. The two sides'relations become close and at the same time the differences don't disappear. As to its China policy, for the purpose of recovering its domestic economy, British new government intensify its commercial ties with emerging economies, especially with China. Sino-UK relation makes progress continuously, however, the Human Rights continues to bother their relation. On the climate issue, the Coalition Government takes active measures to curb emission and promote success of the climate change international agreement. The UK wants to play a leading role in climate issue, but it carries less weight in this field. Thus the Coalition Government turns to pay more attention on the adaptation to the climate change.
