Analysis And Research On Track And Field Referees Of Shanxi Province

Athletics is an ancient sport, known as "the mother of sports". Throug-hout all previous Olympic Games, it is not difficult to find track and field sports occupys an unparalleled position and gains the most metals in the game. Tack and field sports is almost the most competitive, which is a challenge to the limit for people's strength, speed height and distance. With large-scale, fine classification, various kinds, the athletics competition need a large number of track and field referees, who are facing new challengesalong because of the application of high-tech electronic technology and advanced equipments in the game.Therefore, how to improve the quality and professi-onal level of referees has become an urgent problem to be solved. With the rapid development of track and field sports, some track and field referees can not keep up trend and and become limited to a certain extent. And The constantly changing times and athletics rules make the past analysis of the track and field referee become a understanding of a certain period of time, so with the features and new rules of current athletics competition, we should have a new understanding for referees' work ability and related qualities. Based on this,we should investigate the current situation of athletics referees in Shanxi Province and discuss the discovered deficiencies. On this account, we can promote the sustainable, healthy and rapid development of track and field the cause and provide theoretical basis for further improvement referees, cultivation of reserve talents and management of functional departments, in order to enhance the overall level of track and field referees in Shanxi Province.Based on literature materials,expert interviews, questionnaires, mathem-atical statistics and other methods and a total of 183 people as the research object, among whom a international referee registered in Shanxi Sports Bureau,22 national-level referees, and 160 Level-1 referees, as well as the Thirteenth Athletic Meeting in Shanxi Province in 2010, The Teenagers' Track and Field Championships in 2010 in Shanxi Province, this paper focused on the research of questionnaire and interview surveys, and conclude the followings:1. The number of Athletics referees of International and National levels is few, and the sex ratio is in imbalance.2. The geographical distribution is also imbalance, in the cities such as Taiyuan, Datong, Jinzhong, Linfen, Yuncheng and so on the number of referees is relatively more than others, while in Shuozhou, Xinzhou, Lvliang, the number is relatively less.3. In order to meet the demand of higher competitions, such referees' English language ability needs to be improved.4. Due to the widely use of computer and modern electronic instruments in athletic competitions, their ability of operate computer and modern electronic instruments should also be improved.5. Thechances of outside inspect and study is small, and communication with the excellent referees is little.6. The track and field referees in Shanxi province is improper to compete for different jobs.7. There is no established comprehensive system of regular training.8. The Judges' assessment system is not perfect.9. There are no specific rewards and punishments measures to regulate the judges' enforcement actions.According to the above status quo, this paper offers the following reco-mmendations:1. It is better to optimize the echelon construction of referee team, and focus on the training and selection of judges.2. To develop young judges by using the advantages of Colleges and Universities.3. Improve the research capacity of track and field referees.4. The training in relevant functional departments should focus on the key point, and strengthen the training of backbone of the track and field referee. 5. Improve the overall judge teem level in those weak areas.6. Enhance the referee's foreign language proficiency, especially the listening and speaking ability.7. Improve the referee's ability of operating computer and modern electronic instruments.8. To take measures to improve the referees' amateur learning enthusiasm.9. Complete the countermeasures of the functional departments in the management of track and field referees.
