Research Of Nature Reserve Management Information System Based On GIS

Establishing nature reserves is the most important and effective measure toprotect natural resources and ecological environment, and it is also an importantmeasure to maintain ecological safety and to promote ecological civilization, and it isan important guarantee to achieve sustainable socio-economic development andharmonious coexistence of people and nature. Hupingshan National Nature Reserve isa forest and wildlife nature reserve to protect South China tigers and other endangeredanimal and their habitats and Davidia involucrata and other rare plant. Recently, withthe continuous development of science and technology, it is particularly urgent tostudy how to use advanced management techniques and tools to enhance effectivemanagement of protected areas.Based on project research and system requirements, research the mainstream GIStechnologies and define the goal and overall architecture of research of nature reservemanagement information system based on GIS. Adopt Windows XP+MicrosoftVisual Studio2005+ArcGIS Engine framework as the development platform, takingSQL Server2005as the database and using C Sharp as the development language todesign the system. The main work of the paper is showed as the following.1. Analyze the development of nature reserves management and advance thesignificance of the system. Complete the needs analysis based on many times needs ofresearch. Then establish the system goals and key technologies. Finally complete thesystem overall design.2. According to the needs analysis and overall design, sort out the functions ofthe system and design the functional modules, including engineering documentmanagement, data collection and editing, biodiversity management, patrol monitoringmanagement, statistical and spatial analysis and so on.3. According to the characteristics of the nature reserve data, assort the data ofnature reserve. Finally divide the database to spatial database, business propertiesdatabase and multimedia database.4. Develop the system by the way of programmatic and complete the systemintegration. Then take the data of Hupingshan to test the system. Through theaccumulation of critical technology analysis and development experience, hoping toprovide a typical example for similar management information systems.5. Summarize the research and the problem encountered in the course of thestudy, in order to provide a reference for further study.
