Anlin iron deposit in Anyang city of Henan province located in the south of Taihang Mountain is the most important skarn-type iron deposit in North China. The deposits occur in the contact of intrusive body of Mesozoic and middle Ordovician carbonate rock and nearby. Because of the complex tectonic evolution movement and multiple magma activity, the area has a good metallogenic conditions and prospecting potential. There are many known medium-size iron deposit in this region such as Li zhen iron deposits, Dongye iron deposits, Yangjiazhuang iron deposits. These deposits share the same or similar geological background, ore-controlling characteristics, ore-body characteristics and ore-forming mechanism.Combined with regional geological background, previous work, and the results of field observation and indoor geochemical analysis, the research of typical mineralization characteristics, geochemical characteristics and metallogenic prospect in Anlin region was made in this paper. And the following results and understanding were obtained:1. The region deposit (ore body) is mainly produced in the contact zone of neutral Yanshanian magmatic rocks and Ordovician carbonate rocks or nearby. The positive contact zone structure and the outer contact zone are the typical ore-controlling structure of Anlin iron deposit.2. Deposit geochemical studies have shown that diorite and limestone material exchanged in the process of the formation of skarn. The research on S, Pb and O isotope analysis shows that mineralization materials are mainly sourced from magamatic system in depth, of which metal elements such as Pb are from the crust-mantle mixture, the direct source of the ore-forming fluid is magmatic water. Isotopes data suggested the main mineralization of iron deposits in the region occurred in the Yanshanian.3. Based on a comprehensive analysis on the ore-controlling factors, think that strong or weak aeromagnetic anomaly is the obvious signs of regional geophysical for such iron ore. The paper clearly showing the directions for forecasting and proposed the Dongshan area as prospecting targets:EH4geophysical interpretation of the Dongshan area reflect the good metallogenic condition and prospecting potential.
