With the rapid development of modern computer, microprocessor and communication technology, earthquake precursor observation has entered the digitalization and network age. Embedded technology, as a supporting technology, plays an important part in earthquake precursor observation instruments, which is promoting precursor instruments to the direction of miniaturization, low-power and intelligence.Currently, the earthquake precursor data acquisition is required to have two functions:One is to ensure high accuracy, the other is to implement network data communication. However, themajority of earthquake precursory data acquisition instruments are based on X86computer systems or16/24bit single-chip microcomputer with network communication function.Due to the insufficient application of embedded technology applications,data acquisition functions can not be achieved effectively.So it has great significance to carry out specialized embedded technology research and practical application, improving the overall performance of earthquake precursor data acquisition system.In this paper, according to the requirements of earthquake precursor observation system: real-time data acquisition, display and feedback, automatic storage, processing and transmission and others.The reaearch is conducted on the corresponding embedded software technology basing on a typical embedded data acquisition hardware environment. Specific study work includes research on embedded Linux in more detail, design developing methods of embedded operating system, device drivers, network support software and application software, realization of embedded software fordata acquisition functions.The developing method of embedded software for typical data acquisition in this paper, can be used as a reference and technical services for embedded systems research. The data acquisition systems of GM4magnetometer, GPS across tomography and pressure meter basing on embedded software,have successfully made the realization of high-precision data acquisition and network communication,which have been applied in earthquake precursor observation. This paper is of great value for the development of user-oriented, product-oriented, application-oriented embedded systems.
