Regional unbalance problem is inevitable challenge to most countries duringdevelopment. It has significant influence on whether a community can maintain itsstable and sustainable development. Regional economic discrepancy, as reflection ofthis unbalance, has been raised major concern by researchers and policy makers fromall around the world. Therefore, in this essay, the author does research in thetransformation of regional economic difference and the evolution of spatial structureof Sichuan Province, China, on basis of GIS (Geographic information system), Imageprocess, Spatial Statistics analysis, Spatial cluster analysis, Spatial overlay analysis,DTM (Digital Terrain Mode) technologies. By using of Kriging Method and InverseDistance Weighting, to find out proper method of research in Sichuan province interms of comparative study, also to find the corresponding reason. In regionaleconomic research, it introduces the geographic mode of GIS to build a regionaleconomic model, which enable the change from traditional qualitative research andmeasurement statistic to spatial analysis model. A new attempt is toward technologicalresearch in the aspect of regional economic difference. It illustrates the functions andits advantages of GIS, whatever to draw contouring, cross-section diagram, isometricmap, three-dimensional picture, in order to imitate the transformation of economicterrain in multi-angle and multi-dimension ways.Due to the single indicators are used as parameters in analysis model, there arerelative deviations in accuracy in research report. However, they are still considerablerelevance value used by Sichuan policy makers.
