During the exploration and development of oil&gas field, for the lowpermeability reservoir, hydrofracture is a important way to enhance oilrecovery(EOR), in hydrofracture, it will produce a mass of fractures, which is veryessential for well arrangement in the development of oil field. How to evaluate thefractures exactly is a still hot spot in petroleum industry.Conventional fracturemonitortechnique, e.g., dip compass, well temperature test,radioactive measurement, potential method, etc., which are some constrains in length,height, width, azimuth, microseismic monitor can solve the problems. Microseismic isa new geophysics technique, it can detect fracture geometry shape and spacedistribution by receiving the microseismic signal. Microseismic can provide fracture’sheight, length, azimuth, which can be used to optimize well arrangement, enhancingoil recovery.This paper is to utilize microseismic signal to evaluate fracture,i.e., fracturelocation, length,width,height,direction,which are can be used to improve oil&gasfield development project by optimize well location layout, enhancing oil recovery. Inthis paper,at first,microseismic fracture monitor basic principles areintroduced,including acoustic emission(AE), Mohr-Coulomb theory,fracturemechanics rules. Secondly,making a comparison between conventional fracturemonitor(dip compass, well temperature test, radioactive measurement, potentialmethod, etc.) and microseismic fracture monitor, showing microseismic fracturemonitor is prior to others.Meanwhile, for researching microseismic wavefieldcharacteristic, a microseismic event is regarded as a time delay explosion reflectionpoint,designing a geological model to numerical simulation by finite differencemethod. Based on the previous research,microseismic data acquisition and processflows are respresented,including observation system establishment, noise filter,polarization analysis,three component receiver orientation, velocitymodeling,microseismic source locating, modifingvelocitymodeling,accuratemicroseismic source locating. In this paper,microseismic field date is applied to research monitor effect,microseismic operation flow isresearched,including how to select monitor well&fracture well, fracturepreparation,fracture parameters selection and data process,field data showsmicroseismic fracture monitor play aimportant role for monitoring fractures..Finally,the role of microseismic monitor in shale gas is describedbriefly,showingmicroseismic has favorable application prospect. Meanwhile,regarding constructionson microseismic monitor are presented,which are to research further in future.
