Reservoir flow units are kinds of reservoir rock mass distributed continuouslyinthree-dimension space from macro view to micro view which have similar rockcharacteristics influencing fluid flow and filtering attributes of the fluid itself. They arereservoir genetic units resulted from multiple geological functions includesedimentaryprocess、diagenism and after reconstruction.The study and division of flowunits could be usedto judge reservoir reasonably and further predict the distribution of reservoir and residual oil/gas.Based on research of reservoir flow units research methods,systematic research of lowporosity and permeability reservoir flow units is carried out in this paper including the divisionmethod research、synthetical appraisal、distribution pattern and effect factors of flow unit andcorrelation analysis between flow units and oilfield production performance. The paper takesShihezi Ⅷ of Tao2area of Sulige gas field formation as an example of flow units research.In consideration of the Tao2reservoir characteristics of low-permeability low-porosity,low pressure, low production and strong heterogeneity, this paper adoptes multiparametercluster analysis method to divide reservoir flow unit. Five parameters of porosity, permeability,FZI, sand/formation ratio and formation conductivity are choose for cluster analysis, thoseparameters can divid reservoir flow unit in respect of both lithological-property and dynamicdevelopment. Then this paper also adoptes stepwise discriminant regression analysis methodto check the reliability of multiparameter cluster analysis method, and the result shows that thereliability is more than95%. Eventually, the paper divides flow units of type1,2and3aimingat598core samples of target reservoir, and obtains65,174and359flow units respectively.Based on the result of flow unit demarcation mentioned above, this paper also analyses thedistribution regulation, affection and practical application of flow unit what can indicate thefavorable areas of target gas field.
