The progress of science and technology, and the development of navigationaerospace technique, make remote sensing technique play a very important part in thework of geological prospecting. The research on ore-controlling factors, prospectingindication and metallogenic regularities, to extract mineralization information iswildly used recently. Using remote sensing technique for geological prospecting andore-forming potential is convenient, yet it still has limitation for that landform andgeomorphy can infect a lot.This paper presents a thorough study of mineral resource prospecting inChongqing Pengshui by using geological and geochemical prospecting and remotesensing method. This paper reaches the geology metallogenic factors through thelithology and structure information analyzed by the geologica l data. After that wecompile the remote sensing interpretation for geological structure, then using classicalconventional PCA and terrain correction to extract the remote sensing abnormalinformation. Work out chemical elements abnormal halo by geochemical exploration,at last use hierarchical analytical technique to sieving local anomalies and classifyingore-hunting prospect areas. In this study process, the results are as follows:(1) Using Pengshui region in Chongqing on September1999one width of ETM+remote sensing image as the foundation, considering previous geologic data by theway of artificial visual interpreting the region that was established lithology, structureinterpreting marks in the study area, work out lithologic interpretation figure, linearstructure interpretation figure, ring structures interpretation figure.(2) Analyse the spectral characteristics of the typical alteration minerals in thisarea, extracting hydroxyl alteration information and iron staining information basedon the ETM+remote sensing images.(3) To remove influence that topography, geomorphology, lithology informationtaking in extracting alteration information, we should divide the entire study area topartitioned block, then extracting hydroxyl alteration information and iron staininginformation. (4) Drawing terrain slope map, then use it and solar elevation angle data totopographic correct the alteration information that extracted.(5)Get geological data, lithological interpretation map, linear structuralinterpretation map, ring structure interpretation map and hydroxyl alterationinformation and iron staining information together, and Using Analytical HierarchyProcess analyzed them. The study area should be divided into1km*1km grid. Thenscored4factors (lithology、structure、chemical prospecting、alteration),each cell andcomposted the weight of every factors to form a mineralization favorable value, as thebasis for the value to forecast metallogenic zone. Through analysis, delineated7metallogenic zones in the study area, and divided into three levels: include3targetingareas of category one,1targeting areas of category two,3targeting areas of categorythree.The research in Chongqing Pengshui has an important role in the direction. Andthis research protects multimetallic mineral resources for the development of nationaleconomy.
