Blackbody radiation source plays an extremely important role in the field of radiation measurement. It is always the research focus in the field of radiation. The technology of low and medium temperature blackbody radiation source is already developed. However, the high temperature blackbody radiation source is hard to be designed. Only a few research institutions and enterprises have the technology to produce a qualified high temperature blackbody radiation source.In this paper, we design an opening high temperature blackbody radiation source and the design process is discussed in details. Our work provides some guidelines for the design of high temperature blackbody radiation source in the future. The technical parameters of the designed high temperature blackbody radiation source are as follows:1) The effective emissivity of the blackbody is bigger than0.998;2) The temperature distribution of the inner wall is uniform and the temperature difference is less than1℃;3) Temperature Range:800~1600℃;The study of the blackbody radiation source mainly includes the calculation of the effective emissivity and the design of the cavity structure, the thermal design of the blackbody radiation source and the experimental validation of the effective emissivity. The main tasks of this paper are as following:Firstly, Monte Carlo method is used to calculate the effective emissivity of the blackbody radiation source. By using the program, the effective emissivity of the blackbody is calculated and the influences of different factors on the effective emissivity are analyzed. Then, according to the calculating results, the structure size of the blackbody is designed, whose effective emissivity is bigger than0.998.Secondly, the thermal design of blackbody radiation source includes material selection, the temperature uniformity control and temperature stability control. The software Fluent14.0is used to simulate the temperature field in the blackbody radiation source. In the light of the simulating results, an excellent blackbody radiation source with auxiliary heating and the compensation chamber is designed. When the highest temperature in the designed blackbody radiation source is close to1600℃, the temperature difference of the inner wall is less than1℃.Finally, the experimental validation of the effective emissivity of a blackbody radiation source is discussed. The emissivity of the blackbody radiation source produced by Beijing Nanqixing Company is validated by indirect measurement and the uncertainty is analyzed. Using the blackbody radiation source, the VERTEX80V Fourier infrared spectrometer produced by the BRUKER in Germany is calibrated.
