The differences between high-precision gravity exploration and conventional gravityprospecting methods are that in the process of gravimetry, strict technical requirements areused in each step in high-precision gravity exploration and calculation method with higherresolution is adopted to reach more scientific and accurate processing of the gravity data.Potash fertilizer is the main part of production components, and it is also an importantchemical material in national economy. China’s potassium resource is insufficient, and theindustry reserves of potash is only0.47%of the world. So China is one of the world’s biggestpotash imports country, and the imports account for80-90percent of the total domesticconsumption. Establishing the strong potash resources security system in our country toensure agricultural sustainable development has far-reaching strategic significance. Laos hasrich mineral deposits, whose government has formulated a series of geological miningexploration, mining development plans and investment projects. Laos’s mining has goodprospects for development. We use the gravity data processing method to process the high-precision gravity data ofLaos measured in2009. We hope to provide the basis for strategic selection and the drillingwork, and make contribution to alleviate our country’s dependence on importing potash orefrom other countries. Our work and results are as follows:(1) According to the basic principles of gravity exploration, we summarize the principleof high precision gravity exploration method and its application scope, and we also describethe importance of high-precision gravity exploration and data processing;(2) Conventional gravity data processing method are briefly introduced, and the potashdeposit data in Laos’ Khammuane region is processed and interpreted preliminarily;(3) The potash deposit data in Laos’ Khammuane region is reprocessed andreinterpreted and plotted by the differences between cutting method, apparent density inversion; Locations and ranges of some low density sedimentary basins are determined;dozens of fractures are deduced; the final graphic ore-prospecting target area is given witheight target section of the first style and eight target section of the second style. These resultssupply reliable evidence for the drilling of potash mine;(4) Using the human-computer interaction method, chose a location profile in the mostfavorable target area, formal-calculation metallogenic determined the possible metallogenicposition and occurrence.
